About Us
Our Story

Dash Monument was founded by Melissa and Bo, a husband-and-wife team who’ve spent their entire careers serving families through life’s hardest moments.
Melissa grew up in the cemetery and monument industry — literally spending her childhood on cemetery grounds alongside her family. She has dedicated several years to supporting families in creating meaningful memorials that truly honor their loved ones. She finds it deeply rewarding to assist families during such a sensitive time.
Bo has spent his career walking alongside families during some of life’s most difficult chapters. His background includes years of work in grief support roles, where compassion and steady presence made all the difference. One of the most meaningful parts of his journey has been creating memorial portraits—lasting, photographic tributes that help families remember and celebrate their loved ones. For Bo, providing something so personal during such a vulnerable time is more than just work—it’s an honor.
As a Kansas City native, he’s also spent years collaborating with local small businesses, always grounded in a deep love for his community. Supporting local families and honoring local lives is what drives him every day.
Together, they bring deep empathy, practical knowledge, and a true passion for helping others.
When Melissa and Bo opened Dash Monument, they were set on one thing: this business would never be pushy, overwhelming, or confusing. Instead, they built something different—a warm, approachable experience, feeling confident the project is in the right hands.
Why Families Trust Us
We handle absolutely everything.
There’s no reason for you to be calling the cemetery to figure out regulations, or ordering accessories. We’ll take care of it for you.
We listen first.
Every family and story is different. We’ll help you choose the right memorial without pressure.
We’ve been there.
We have lost loved ones and know firsthand how difficult this can be. We’ve also been a part of end-of-life journeys through our work in hospice care. We walk with you, not ahead of you.
